About a three weeks ago my sister had gone out and left me in the house by myself.So you know i was happy about that.My room was the basement and it was always cold down there but for some reason it was a little too cold so i went up stairs to turn on the heat and i saw that my front door was unlocked when i knew i locked it!Im not the person to go looking around so i went back down stairs and locked my door to my room.An hour had gone by so i got up and feed my dog. It was around 11:30 because i was watching disney channel and THATS SO RAVEN was on. So i turned the t.v down cause i was ready to got to bed.Before that i put my dog outside in the backyard but my gate was unlocked and i didn't know how to lock it because it's one of those tall gates.I just thought the wind might have knocked it loose. So i went inside and turned off my lights. I was lying in bed watching t.v and about 30mins went by and then my dog started barking at the back door and i looked and saw someone staring at me. I jumped up and turned on the lights and no one was there so i called my sister and was like im scared could i sleep in your room. She told me no that no one would be that stupid enough to break in our house cause we have an alarm and it's real loud.(i would know i set it off one day)So i just decided to go back asleep. Not even 15mins passed by and my dog started barking again, now i ddn't look right away cause i tried to pretend like i was sleep but my dog got louder and louder and he started growling so i turned around and this guy was smiling at me. SO i got up AGAIN to see if he was really there and to make sure i wasn't seeing things but when i turned on the ligth to the backyard no one was there and to my surprise the gate was wide open so i was like maybe he ran.Now i wasn't gonna have nobody try and get into my house so i grabbed a flashlight and put on my slippers and went outside trying to lock the gate but i was real scared because it was dark out and it was windy. Before i got the gate locked i looked outside of my yard and saw some man walking down the sidewalk getting ready to catch the bus. When he got on he looked my way like he knew i was looking at him and he smiled and waved. That was the scariest night of my life, but it was wierd though because i had gone to the movies earlier and saw DEAD SILENCE which freaked me out and made me put my dolls and teddy bears in the attic for the night. Now every time i go to bed i have one of my lights on in the basement so that i can see out in the yard and my t.v is always on. ANd my phone has 911 on speed dial. I will never forget that night and im glad my dog was there cause if he wasn't i probably wouldn't be here today to tell my story.

City: Cincinnati

when I was about 6, my older brothers and I stayed home one night--one was 9, the other was 12. my oldest brother was old enough to babysit us while our parents were gone at this benefit. well, we were playing a board game at about 9 in the evening, and all of a sudden our dog sits bolt upright and starts to growl. we let her out, and followed her as she sprinted to the front yard, to this random man who was running away from our front door. she chased him away, and we went back inside to call our parents. they said they would come as soon as they could, and if anything else happens to call the neighbors. 20 minutes later, the dog starts snarling again, and we let her out...only to find that two more men were creeping up to the back of our house. we called out neighbors, who looked around, but nothing was found. until our parents came home, we kept seeing these random people creeping around the house...extremely frightening for us.

City: Seattle

When I was 9,about 4 of my cousins cam over to sleepover.Well we were playing hide and go seek or something but with walkie talkies.I was holding the walkie talkie with my brother next to me and the walkie talkie start to have white noise and then a vioce came in screaming "Get down!Get Down!".My couins were like 5 feet away from us I looked at them and they were even talking or anything.Till today I have never ever found out who it was on the other side of the walkie talkie. Talk to me...

City: brampton, ont.

In the middle of the night I woke up to the sound of my dog barking. It also woke up my dad. I stayed at the top of the stairs, but my dad went down to see why my dog was barking at the front door. My dad said he saw a silhouette of a man just standing at the door. My dad turned on the light outside, and opened the front door (the screen door was still shut). My dad asked what he was doing here and the man said, \"Can I use your phone?\" My dad said \"no, my family is sleeping good night.\" It was creepy, why would someone randomly stop at my house and ask to use the phone, and if he needed to, why did he just stand at the door without knocking or anything.. Brampton is scary.

City: New York, New York

Well, one night when my mom left me and my sis at home, scary things happend... Well, first of all, we had some new neighbors across from us. A married couple. Me and my sis were looking out the window to see if our mom was back because we heard odd noises. Than we saw the man holding a sharp object in his hand. We heard a yell and bang. And than, we saw the man take the bloody sharp object and through it into our yard. He also threw a trash bag at the window we were wathing from. Than we got a phone call, it said, Come out wherever you are...The next morning, the man was gone. We also had to go to the new neighbors wifes funeral...
